Plastral, a 100% Australian owned business are the exclusive Australasian distributor for the Mater-bi biodegradable polymers produced by Novamont, in Novara Italy.
The properties of Mater-Bi can be varied considerably to tailor for a variety of applications.
As regards to their mechanical properties, the products range from those with a low modulus and extremely high toughness to stiff products that tend to be brittle.
As for their transparency, the products range from milky to transparent.
All commercial grades may be transformed using blow moulding, casting, extrusion/thermoforming and injection moulding machines for traditional plastics.
All Mater-Bi grades are certified according to international standards (EN13432, AS 4736).
